Solace Women’s Aid is an innovative, exciting and friendly organisation run by a staff team who are passionate about bringing an end to domestic and sexual violence. We predominantly work with women and children. Our work is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives free from abuse.

Our Southwark team is currently seeking a Duty Worker to act as a first point of contact for anyone contacting its busy advocacy service. You will be completing risk assessments and safety plans with survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, processing new referrals to the service, and dealing with enquiries from professionals.

We’re looking for highly organised and self-motivated applicants who are passionate about ending gender-based violence. You will have a “can-do‟ approach and demonstrable commitment to Solace’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer. Successful applicants will have experience of providing telephone support to vulnerable people preferably including survivors of domestic abuse.

You will receive training and support for this role as necessary.

SALARY:

You will be on Solace’s salary band 3.

Qualified applicants (with an accredited VAWG /domestic abuse qualification) dependent on experience: £24,000 – £26,000 per annum

Unqualified applicants, dependent on experience: £22,000- £23,000 per annum with the potential to gain a qualification and move to the qualified band.

HOURS: 25.5 hours per week. 8.5 hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

CONTRACT:  Permanent
