Solace Women’s Aid is an innovative, exciting and friendly organisation run by a staff team who are passionate about bringing an end to domestic and sexual violence and abuse. We predominantly work with women and children and provide support to more than 11,000 survivors annually, helping them achieve independent lives free from abuse.

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Officer to work within our Finance Department which is based in North London. It is an exciting and varied role with a wide range of duties. The successful candidate will be responsible for the recording and monitoring of the charity’s expenditure while complying with agreed standards and procedures for all finance operations.

Main areas of responsibility are processing supplier invoices and staff expenses claims and preparing the payment run. Administration of the petty cash and prepaid cards system including reconciliation over a number of sites. Weekly banking and processing bank transactions such as direct debits and standing orders.

Candidates should have excellent communication, numeracy and ICT skills and a background in finance processes. You will be highly organised with a flexible approach to tasks, have an eye for detail and the ability to use your own initiative when it comes to problem solving.


You will be on Solace’s salary band 2.2 with a salary range of £22,500 to £25,000 depending on experience and annual reviews rising by £500 up to a maximum of £25,000.

Other benefits include 25 days of annual leave rising to a maximum of 30 days per annum, season ticket loans, cycle to work scheme and a 3% matched contribution of the Solace stakeholder pension scheme.

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week
