Solace Women’s Aid works with women and children affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. We work in a holistic and empowering way enabling service users to live independent lives.

We are looking for an experienced Helpline Coordinator to join our Rape Crisis Service in North London, working with survivors of sexual violence. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work.

You will need a thorough understanding of the legal system, including the key features of the UK’s legal framework dealing with the main offences under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and police reporting / recording procedures.

You will have the skills to manage and train a group of volunteers providing the necessary legal knowledge and counselling skills to support survivors of sexual violence and to respond to crisis/urgent issues in a contained and safe way. You should have demonstrable experience of working in a position with this or a similar client group.

SALARY:

You will be on Solace’s salary band 5.

£28,000-£30,500 per annum based on relevant qualifications and experience

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

CONTRACT: Fixed Term (maternity cover- 1 year) from 22nd August 2018
