Leadership and Governance

Our work so far

Complaints and grievances and HR policies

An external consultant from the global majority has now completed a thematic review of anonymised race-related grievances over an 18-month period. This review was conducted independently to identify learning from the responses to past grievances and to make recommendations for improvements. The recommendations are incorporated into revised policies and training to embed into an improved approach. We have also launched Tell Jane, a new, externally managed, and anonymous reporting mechanism to complement our established formal and informal reporting channels.

Culture review

In late 2022, Solace’s Board of trustees appointed external consultants: New Ways (timefornewways.com) to undertake a culture review of the organisation focusing on workplace culture and areas for improvement. The review has now been completed and we are working with New Ways to evaluate the learnings for us an organisation, and to implement the changes that are needed.  One of the key themes of our Culture Review, was how to ensure that we embed anti-racist practice within Solace.
