Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

illustration of many women

Solace is committed to the putting the values of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at the very centre of our organisation to best support our service users and staff, and doing so in visible, measurable and accountable ways.

We strive to address the multiple and intersecting experiences of discrimination, disadvantage and oppression experienced by the survivors we support, our staff and volunteers. They are at the heart of everything we do and as we grow as an organisation we commit to listening, reflecting, and responding so that our work to end male violence against women and girls is intersectional and anti-discriminatory.

To guide our practice, we have created forums so we can actively listen to staff concerns and keep reflecting on the multitude of perspectives. We have analysed findings from surveys and forums to identify key trends and then used these insights to inform organisational priorities and steer our Inclusion Strategy in consultation with our staff.

We are now working hard to embed these initiatives, with the aim of supporting our incredibly hardworking staff and implementing our Inclusion Strategy in every area of our organisation.

From the creation of Inclusion Networks and new training opportunities to putting inclusion at the heart of policy-making and celebrating achievement at our Inclusion Awards, we are moving forward every day.
