Collaborative policy consultation process

One of the key ways we are working towards becoming a fully inclusive organisation is by ensuring that colleagues can help to shape internal policy development and reviews through a fully transparent process from start to finish.

Consultation

We consult our Inclusion Networks throughout policy development. Our Network organisers bring their communities together to discuss forthcoming changes and feed back on any unintended consequences. This has included consultations on: women’s health; harassment; grievances; and trans inclusion.

Review

We periodically review our Equality and Diversity Policy to ensure continued relevancy. To make our reviews as wide-ranging as possible, the consultation process brings together Inclusion Network representatives, our chief executive, HR department and EDI team.

Collaboration

Network representatives feed back the discussion points to their members to ensure they are kept up to date with the process – this helps to reassure contributors that their views are being heard and truly shaping policy within the charity.
