Solace is delighted to have been appointed by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to provide vital domestic abuse community services in the borough from 2021.
Together we will deliver an Advocacy and Support Service (SASS) for victims and survivors of domestic violence living in Tower Hamlets who are aged 16+. The Solace service is staffed by a team of independent domestic violence advocates (IDVAs) as well as specialist workers located in Poplar Job Centre and Tower Hamlets Housing Options. It is our aim that everyone affected by abuse is given the specialist support needed to build safer lives and stronger futures.
Director for Services, Judith Banjoko, said:
‘We are looking forward to becoming part of a strong community, working in partnership with new colleagues across multiple agencies to provide the very best service to anyone who has been affected by abuse.’
Head of Community Services, Amy Glover, said:
“We are delighted to be working with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Our team will offer specialist 1-1 support including information, advocacy and specialist services to increase safety and meet a range of needs – these can include ongoing safety concerns, emotional or housing support, legal options, reporting to the police, help around child contact, benefits and financial advice.”
Solace is the leading specialist charity in London working to end violence against women and girls. For more than 40 years Solace has supported survivors in London to build safe and strong lives. Last year Solace provided life-saving support to over 27,000 women, children and young people and men in the capital.
