Solace in Bexley (SASS)
Advocacy
At Bexley we offer 1:1 advocacy, support and safety planning for medium to high risk service users. We support regardless of sexuality or gender and can take referrals internally, externally and in person.
The Bexley One Stop Shop
The Bexley One Stop Shop, offering a range of advice all under one roof to help victims of domestic abuse will be open from November 2021. The service will be open every Wednesday from the 3rd November from 12:30 pm to 3 pm at Central Library Bexleyheath, Townley Road, DA6 7HJ and will include legal representation, domestic abuse specialist support, plus other agencies, all offering advice on issues concerning domestic abuse. No appointment is required, all advice is free to anyone visiting the One Stop Shop.
Groups
We currently run Arise and ABC Programmes for women and also during COVID-19 have been running meditation virtually. We also held coffee mornings prior to the pandemic and hope to continue these in the future.
BAMER Worker
We are currently working in partnership with IKWRO to provide support to Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) women 18+ experiencing Domestic Abuse (DA) and living in Bexley.
This worker is able to support service users that are medium and high risk and referrals are accepted through our duty line/inbox and then referred onto IKWRO with Service User consent.
Specialist Advocate
We have also secured funding for a year to provide a Specialist advocate, this worker will be providing support to women who have experienced violence against women and girls (VAWG) and are also experiencing multiple disadvantage including, but not limited to, mental health issues, substance use, offending behaviour, homelessness or engaging in prostitution.
