Advice and Support Caseworker – Enfield

We are looking for an experienced domestic and sexual violence advice and support case worker to join our highly motivated and committed team.

You will support women who have experienced domestic and sexual violence through referrals from Children’s Centres. You will provide advice, options and information and make supported referrals to other relevant agencies. You will also carry out some face to face work and work in partnership with Children Centre family outreach workers.

You should have experience of carrying out risk assessments and safety planning. You should also have direct experience of working with women and girls who have been affected by domestic and/or sexual violence or any other form of abuse and have an in depth understanding of violence against women and girls.

SALARY: £22,000 – £26.000 pro rata

HOURS: 22.5 per week (3 days)

Refuge Worker – Lambeth

You will provide advice and support to women who have experienced domestic violence. You will carry out risk and needs assessments, develop support plans and carry out key work with women survivors, including housing applications. You should have significant past experience of working with this or a similar client group. An in-depth understanding of the needs of women and children from diverse backgrounds is essential.

This role may involve some lone working. In addition to support work you will also be responsible for the day to day running of the house including health and safety and reporting repairs.

SALARY: £22,000 – £26,000

Service Coordinator – Southwark

Solace Women’s Aid is a London based Violence against Women’s and Girls charity.  We have been providing a wide range of services for survivors for 40 years.

We are currently looking to recruit a motivated and energetic person to lead a busy Advocacy service in Southwark, which works with service users across all risk levels and also includes an IRIS service, Sanctuary scheme, Perpetrator programme and WRAP, our comprehensive group work project

You will be highly organised and able to balance the demands of supporting a large staff team and the monitoring and reporting requirements of a multi-stranded contract.

You will have extensive experience of staff management and an understanding of working in a Violence Against Women & Girls context.

Salary: Salary range starting from £35,000

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (5 days)

A new and exciting opportunity has now opened up to work across both our Islington SASS (Solace Advocacy and Support Service) service and Islington Refuges as a Caseworker. A key aspect of the role will be to work in partnership with other agencies in order to be able to provide a more holistic service for clients.

The successful applicant will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of domestic and sexual violence and strong casework management skills.

If you have experience of working with victims of domestic and/or sexual violence and a working knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing and welfare benefits, then this is a unique opportunity to further develop your skills and career.

Specialist Group Worker

We are looking for an experienced group worker to join our specialist refuge project in Camden, working with women with complex needs.  You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work.

You will need a thorough understanding of the dynamics and effects of domestic and sexual violence and have practical experience of supporting service users with mental health concerns and /or who use substances problematically and/or dual diagnosis.

You will have the skills to design and deliver group work to a diverse group of service users. You should have a minimum of two year’s experience of working in a group worker position with this or a similar client group.

To meet the demands of this role you will have extensive experience in facilitating groups with service users who have substance use and/or dual diagnosis support needs. Ideally using a therapeutic basis for program design and implementation including monitoring, evaluation and contribution to reports.

This role will require working occasional Saturdays.

SALARY: £24,000 – £27,500 pro rata pa

HOURS: 15 per week

Floating Support Worker

Solace Women’s Aid is dedicated to providing a full range of services for women and their children, enabling them to live lives free from domestic and sexual violence.

Solace has been awarded funding by London Councils to operate a floating support service to women who have been sexually exploited through their involvement in prostitution or trafficked for the purpose of sexual exploitation. This support will be provided to women in 2nd stage dispersed accommodation, predominantly in the borough of Lambeth.

 We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced Floating Support Worker to help establish and develop this new service. Successful applicants will have an in-depth knowledge and experience of supporting sexually exploited women within a community setting, as well as strong casework and project management skills. You will have a flexible approach to work and the ability to work to your own initiative.

Benefits include 25 days holiday per annum, which will increase by one day annually until 30 days and a contributory pension scheme.

Solace Trustees

Solace Women’s Aid is a London based charity that has been working for 40 years with women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence. We work with over 8,500 survivors of violence each year and operate services ranging from advice and emergency refuge accommodation, to longer term therapeutic support such as counselling and arts therapies for children. In 2015 the organisation provided counselling services to 2,970 women.
Given the importance of this service, the Board of trustees is looking to recruit a talented new member to complement the skills and expertise of the existing Board. Strong candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge of and expertise in the therapeutic field (counselling or psychotherapy). Candidates should have a deep understanding of the psychological impact of abuse and the challenges abuse represents to the designing and delivering effective therapeutic services.
Successful candidates will be required to attend 4 board meetings and two away days each year as well as participate on a board sub-committee. Trustees can claim reasonable out-of-pocket and travel expenses but are not otherwise remunerated.
