Sessional Children’s Play Worker – Islington

We are now recruiting for an experienced Sessional Play Worker to plan and deliver exciting, challenging and varied activities to children and families at our two refuges in Islington.

You have experience of direct work with children and families in a play, education or community setting. You have an in depth understanding and awareness of domestic abuse, and its impact on children. You are able communicate with children and young people and are committed to providing a child focused service, to children from diverse backgrounds.

Salary: £10 per hour

Hours: 16 per week

Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) – Southwark

We are Solace Advocacy & Support Service (SASS) in Southwark and we provide free and confidential support to female and male survivors of domestic violence and abuse.

There is a current vacancy in our busy team for a Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA),
The primary purpose of this role is to provide emotional and practical support to high-risk victims of domestic violence through the delivery of a proactive and responsive service, encompassing risk assessment and safety & support planning. The role also requires an excellent understanding of domestic abuse, including the impact on survivors and their children and the legal and practical remedies available to these clients.

The successful candidate must have demonstrable ability of planning and delivering on diverse caseloads and of working in a multi-agency environment; you will also have an understanding of the issues facing victims of domestic violence and abuse, experience of safeguarding vulnerable adults and their children, strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
Experience of supervising and supporting staff is also required, as you will have line managing responsibilities.

Islington SASS Team Manager

We are now recruiting for an experienced Manager to manage our Islington SASS team, which works with service users across all risk levels and also includes an IRIS service and WRAP, our comprehensive group work project.

You will have extensive experience of staff management and an understanding of working in a Violence Against Women & Girls context.
Salary: Salary range £31,000 – 32,000 pa (depending on experience & qualification)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (5 days)
