The post holder will join a well-established charity to clean one of its office buildings.  The charity provides support and advice to women and children who have suffered domestic and sexual abuse. The cleaner will be key to ensuring that office space and meeting rooms are welcoming and standards of cleanliness and health and safety are maintained.

Salary: £9.40 per hour

Youth Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA)

This vacancy has arisen for a Youth Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to provide a proactive service to victims/survivors identified as experiencing domestic violence within the Emergency Department as well as other departments of London’s Major Trauma Centres.

Based within a busy hospital setting, this dynamic role will include working with victims/survivors to plan for their safety, whilst in hospital, upon discharge and on return to the community. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the creation, implementation and delivery of training and workshops to relevant hospital staff as well as presentations to promote the service in a range of forums.

This is a unique opportunity to further develop your skills and career. If you have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact, experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of domestic violence and strong casework management skills, we would like to hear from you.

Applicants are required to have CAADA’s IDVA or DAPA qualification.

 We are currently recruiting for a Finance Officer, to work in our Finance department which is based in North London.  It is an exciting and varied role with a wide range of duties. The successful candidate will be responsible for the monitoring and reporting of the charity’s income.

Candidates should have excellent communication, numeracy and ICT skills and a background in finance. You will need to be highly organised, have an eye and attention for detail.

IRIS Project Advocate Educator

Solace Women’s Aid is delighted to be working in close partnership with the London Borough of Camden and Camden CCG to continue to provide and develop the IRIS project to GP surgeries in the Borough. We are now seeking to employ two Advocate/Educators to take this work forward.

IRIS improves the quality of care given by GP surgeries to those experiencing domestic violence. It is a general practice based domestic violence training, support and referral programme that has been evaluated in a randomised controlled trial. The post is to provide advocacy for patients, training to general practice teams and on-going support for health professionals. You will also have responsibility for ensuring delivery of the IRIS model to general practices and managing relationships with partnership practices.

We’re looking for highly organised and self-motivated women who are passionate about ending gender-based violence. You will have a “can-do‟ approach and demonstrable commitment to Solace’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer. You will receive training and support for this role as necessary.

Solace Women’s Aid Trustee Recruitment

Solace Women’s Aid is a London based charity working primarily with women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence. The organisation has grown significantly over the last few years and we are keen to recruit talented members to join our active and committed Board of Trustees.

Candidates will be strategic thinkers and at this particular time we are looking to attract applications from those who can demonstrate specific expertise in accounting (either a qualified accountant or qualified by experience). Knowledge of charity SORP would be an advantage. We particularly welcome applications from Black and Minority Ethnic Women as they are currently under-represented in our trustee membership.

Successful candidates will be required to attend 4 board meetings and two away days each year as well as participate on a board sub-committee. Trustees can claim reasonable out-of-pocket and travel expenses but are not otherwise remunerated.

COVER YOUR TRACKS
