Solace’s response to The Mayor’s Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy for London

Nahar Choudhury, chief executive of Solace, said: “The Mayor’s new VAWG strategy rightly recognises that supporting survivors means addressing the wide range of factors contributing to violence against women and girls and the importance of bringing together a range stakeholders and agencies to play their part in ending this epidemic across London.

We’re especially heartened to see dedicated investment in work to challenge the manosphere and engage boys and young men as part of the solution, as well as specialist services supporting girls and young women. Women tell us every day that financial dependence on perpetrators is a huge barrier to leaving, so any investment in supporting women into sustainable financial independence will truly change lives.

“Solace looks forward to continuing our work with the Mayor and partners across London to ensure this investment translates into real safety and independence for survivors.”
